What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Honestly, the moment something clicks for a student. You can actually see it on their face when something they were struggling with finally makes sense, and that's genuinely rewarding. I also find that explaining concepts clearly forces you to understand them better yourself, so it works both ways.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strength is patience. I never make someone feel bad for not understanding something, and I'm happy to explain the same concept a few different ways until it lands. I'm also pretty good at breaking things down into smaller steps rather than overwhelming someone with everything at once. And because I'm a student myself, I still remember what it actually feels like to struggle with something, which I think helps me relate to the people I'm helping.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the two most important things are making the student feel comfortable enough to ask questions, and actually understanding where they're stuck rather than just re-explaining the same thing louder. A lot of students stay quiet because they're embarrassed to admit they don't get something, so creating a judgment-free environment matters a lot. Beyond that, I think helping students build confidence in their own ability is just as important as getting through the content, because if they leave a session feeling like they can figure things out themselves, that's more valuable than anything
