About Holly

Strong Communication and English Expertise

Holly brings a deep love of language to her tutoring, with studies in Literature and a Diploma of Communications. She has trained formally in public speaking and presentation skills, achieving top-level results. This tutor is particularly well suited to helping students with reading, writing, essay structure and oral presentations, from primary through to senior high school. Holly’s background means she can break down tricky texts and assessment tasks into clear, manageable steps that build confidence as well as marks.

Experienced Youth Advocate and Mentor

Holly has hands-on experience supporting young people in educational settings, including advocating for students’ wellbeing and safety in a representative role at university. She has provided advice and guidance to students navigating study pressures and personal challenges, always with a calm, respectful approach. This tutor understands how school stress can affect learning and uses that insight to create a supportive, organised environment where students feel heard and are more willing to ask questions and engage.

Debating, Critical Thinking and Confidence Building

As a former duty officer for a senior school debating competition, Holly has worked closely with teachers, students and parents to promote debating and public speaking. She has coordinated competitions, helped students prepare for debates, and encouraged them to think critically about complex topics. In tutoring sessions, she draws on this experience to build students’ critical thinking, argument planning and speaking skills. Holly’s sessions often include practical activities—such as mini-debates or short speeches—that help students become clearer, more confident communicators in both English and Humanities subjects.
