What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love how rewarding it feels to help someone understand something they previously found difficult. Being able to share my knowledge and break down concepts in a way that makes sense to someone else is really fulfilling. The best moment is seeing the look on their face when they finally start to grasp the concept.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I connect very strongly with young kids and teenagers. In my neighbourhood there were many younger children who I would tutor after school. I never charged money since I was volunteering, but it gave me a lot of experience in making subjects they didnβt like feel fun and engaging. Having an 11-year-old sister who I used to take care of most of the time also helped me become a very patient person.
Most important things I can do for a student π
As a kid, if someone came to tutor me, the first thing I would look for was how gentle they were. Am I too scared to talk to them and ask questions, or can I connect with them enough to feel comfortable and see them as a friend I respect?
The second thing is that they truly know what theyβre teaching. My tutor would always go through all the material beforehand so she knew exactly what to teach, how to teach it, how the board structures papers, and what to practice.
