What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to guide and support students in understanding concepts better and helping them reorganise both their strengths and areas they may need to improve on. I enjoy adapting my approach to different students and helping them build confidence in themselves while finding their own pathway towards achieving their goals.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths as a tutor are my ability to adapt to different students with empathy, patience and resillience. I understand that every student learns differently, so I try to explain concepts in ways that best suit their learning style. I am also determined to support every student to improve in the subject areas they may be struggling with and help them feel more confident in their abilities.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think one of the most important things a tutor can do is truly understand the student and create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable learning and asking questions. A tutor should be able to identify a student's weaknessess and gaps in understanding while also encouraging and motivating them to improve. By helping students strengthen those weaker areas, tutors can help them perform better academically and work towards reaching their goals.

About Marraine

Experienced Learning Support and Mentor for School-Aged Students

Marraine has hands-on experience supporting primary and secondary students through both classroom learning support and a structured university mentoring program. She has worked with small groups and one-on-one, helping students with class tasks, study strategies, time management and goal-setting. By explaining concepts clearly and patiently, she focuses on building confidence as well as skills, which is particularly valuable for students who may be anxious or unsure about Maths or English.

University Biomedical Science Student with Strong Academic Skills

Currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, this tutor brings strong analytical, reading and writing skills to her sessions. Her background requires clear written communication, careful attention to detail and effective note-taking – all of which she passes on to her students. She is well placed to support high school students who need help understanding scientific language in Maths and English questions, as well as younger students building core literacy and numeracy foundations.

Caring, Organised and Great with Children

Beyond tutoring, Marraine volunteers with children in hospital, running interactive activities and offering emotional support, which shows her natural rapport with young people. She has also taken on an honorary secretary role, coordinating meetings and reports, demonstrating strong organisation and reliability. Parents can expect lessons that are calm, structured and encouraging, where this tutor uses her communication skills and mentoring experience to keep students engaged and steadily improving.
