What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love tutoring because I like helping people really understand things, not just memorise things for the sake of it. It's honestly really satisfying when somebody comes in confused or stressed and then leaves like "ohhh that actually makes sense now." I also find that not everybody learns the same way and sometimes the way something is taught just doesn’t work for them.
I just want to make it less scary for students, too. I know what it was like when I was in that position, and I think with having a great tutor in the past it has not only helped me become a better tutor but also a better pers
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are that I’m pretty patient, I explain things in a simple way and I can usually adapt how I’m teaching depending on the student. If they don’t understand, I am not going to just keep repeating the same thing again. I will try to explain it in a different way or explain it step-by-step until it makes sense. I find that most students that I work with need different approaches in understanding and recognising that and explaining it that way is really important.
I think I am good at noticing if a student is confused or not confident, even if they don’t say so, and slowing
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do is actually pay attention to how a student is thinking, not just if they're getting the answer right or wrong. A lot of the time you can tell where the misunderstanding is just by the way they’re approaching a question. So being able to pick that up and respond in the moment is really important.â€
I also think it’s about making sessions feel productive without overloading the student. Like, going through content for the sake of it and making sure they leave actually feeling like they’ve improved on something, even if it’s small.

He sometimes makes mistakes with mental maths with subtracting and adding 2-digit numbers. He needs to be more detailed with his short answers with english. Additionally, he needs to improve on his spelling and on his vocab as well
