My maths background gives me a strong command of the content, which means I can answer questions on the spot and approach a problem from different angles if the first explanation doesn't land. In my experience, students can tell when a tutor actually knows the material, and it builds their trust quickly.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Meet them where they are, not where you expect them to be. A lot of students come in already feeling like they're bad at the subject, so the priority is rebuilding their confidence first. Getting the right answer matters, but getting the student to believe they can get the right answer matters more.

About Rikesh

I am a 2025 James Ruse Graduate and current UNSW law student with a keen interest in teaching all levels of mathematics. Outside of academics, I love reading history books and various sports (mainly tennis).

As a current maths tutor and former peer supporter in academic subjects, Rikesh is used to meeting students where they are.
