What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Although I have not worked as a tutor previously, what excites me most about tutoring is the opportunity to understand how each student thinks and learns. I believe every child has their own strengths, challenges, and way of processing information, and I enjoy the idea of thinking creatively to find approaches that make learning meaningful and engaging for them.
I find it especially rewarding to be part of those moments where a student begins to believe in their own ability and have self-confidence.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my biggest strengths would be my patience, empathy, creativity, and ability to think critically. Through my teaching placements and experiences working with children, I have learnt the importance of understanding the child behind the learning.
I would take the time to recognise when a student is feeling overwhelmed or lacking confidence and adapt my approach accordingly.
I am also multilingual and can speak 6 languages (including dialects) which I find may sometimes connect easier with students in their home language.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important role of a tutor is to create a safe and encouraging environment where a student feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence over time. I truly believe that is how you're able to learn. As my ex-manager used to say, "there's no such thing as a stupid question" and that really resonated with me.
