What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students overcome challenges and gain confidence in a subject they may initially find difficult. Mathematics is often seen as intimidating, but I find it rewarding when a student has that "eureka" moment and begins to understand a concept that previously seemed impossible. I enjoy breaking down complex problems into simple steps and seeing students develop both their skills and self-confidence. Being able to make a positive impact on a student's academic journey and help them achieve their goals is very fulfilling.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strengths are my strong mathematics background, patience, and ability to explain concepts clearly. Having studied mathematics extensively through O-Level Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, and a Mechanical Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore, I have a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving techniques. I am also patient and adaptable, which allows me to tailor my explanations to different learning styles.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence while helping them develop a genuine understanding of the subject. A tutor should create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. It is also important to identify each student's strengths and areas for improvement, then tailor lessons to their individual needs. Beyond improving grades, a tutor should help students develop problem-solving skills and a positive attitude towards learning.
