What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students overcome concepts they once found difficult. I think learning can be frustrating when something just doesn't seem to click, so it's really rewarding when a student suddenly understands a concept after working through it together. I'm also quite empathetic, so I enjoy creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while they learn.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my biggest strengths is my ability to identify exactly where a student is getting stuck. During college, I received a Certificate of Appreciation for a year long Maths Methods peer mentoring program where I ran weekly sessions for 4–5 students. I've always been someone who asks a lot of questions in class, and I've experienced what it's like to receive answers that don't fully address the point of confusion. Because of that, I try to understand every step of a student's thinking process so I can target the specific part they are unsure about rather than simply repeating an explanation.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence and independence. While helping students improve academically is important, a tutor should also guide them in developing good problem solving habits and a positive attitude towards learning.
