What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Honestly, the moment when something finally clicks for a student, you can literally see it on their face. There’s this shift from frustration to an Oh! I get it now, and that never gets old. I also enjoy how tutoring keeps me on my toes; students ask questions in ways I haven’t thought about before, and that challenges me too.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strength is patience– I never make a student feel down for not understanding something. I am also good at finding different ways to explain the same concept, because not everyone learns the same way. If one approach isn’t working, I am more than willing to try an analogy, a diagram, a real-world example– whatever it takes. And I am pretty good at reading when someone is lost but too afraid to say so.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Build their confidence as much as their knowledge because a lot of students struggle not because they are incapable, but because they are convinced themselves they can’t do it. Beyond that, I think it’s important to teach a student how to think through a problem rather than just giving them the answer. The goal is to make them capable enough so that they shouldn’t need you anymore.
