What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping students feel proud of themselves when something finally makes sense. I like making difficult topics feel less scary and showing students that they are capable of improving. I also enjoy making lessons friendly and fun, so students feel comfortable asking questions and trying again when they make mistakes.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths as a tutor are patience, friendliness and explaining things in a simple way. I do not rush students or make them feel bad for not understanding something straight away. I try to understand where they are struggling, then teach step by step using examples, practice questions and encouragement.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do are build confidence, explain clearly and create a safe space for learning. Students should not feel scared to ask questions or make mistakes. A good tutor should help them understand the basics properly, practice regularly and slowly become more independent with their schoolwork.

About Ria

Strong Academic Experience with a Friendly Teaching Style

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and free to ask questions without feeling embarrassed. I am patient, friendly and easy to talk to, and I aim to make lessons feel calm rather than stressful. I never want a student to feel scared of a subject or worried about making mistakes. My goal is to create a positive space where students can ask as many questions as they need and gradually become more confident. I have extensive experience helping students across different age groups and academic levels. Over the years, I have regularly taught younger students, classmates, family friends and relatives across a range of subjects. As a consistently high achieving student, I was often approached by others for support because I could explain difficult concepts clearly and make them easier to understand.

Personalised and Supportive Teaching

I adapt every lesson to the individual student rather than using the same approach for everyone. I take time to understand where a student is struggling, explain concepts step by step and use examples, practice questions and revision to strengthen their understanding. I work well with younger learners, students who have fallen behind and high-achieving students who want to extend their skills.

Strong Science and Mathematics Background

I am currently completing a Master of Biotechnology at Monash University and have a strong academic background in biology, science and mathematics. My studies have developed my analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills. I aim to make lessons clear, structured and encouraging so students can improve their results while also becoming more confident and independent learners.
