What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

One of my biggest strengths is adaptability in how I communicate. Whether I am talking to a potential donor on the street or working through a complex problem, I adjust quickly to who I am speaking with and what they need. I also pick things up fast and like to go deep. I do not just want to know what something is, I want to understand how it works and why, which means I can add value in steep learning environments. And I speak four languages, which has shaped how I think about people and context. It is not just a communication tool, it reflects how I approach problems from multiple angles.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am good at breaking down complex ideas in a way that actually makes sense to someone. Studying economics and econometrics has given me a strong foundation in maths and analytical thinking, and I genuinely enjoy making something difficult feel approachable. I also adapt quickly to how someone learns. I pay attention to where they are getting stuck and adjust from there, which is something I have developed through both my degree and my work in a people facing role. And speaking four languages has given me a strong structural sense which helps me explain how language works.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is make a student believe they are capable. A lot of students have already decided they are bad at the subject, so rebuilding that confidence comes first. From there it is about helping them understand the thinking behind an answer, not just the answer itself. If they only memorise a method they will struggle the moment a question looks slightly different. That takes patience and adaptability. Some concepts need time, and every student processes things differently, so you have to be willing to slow down and try a different approach.
