What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to help someone understand concepts that they previously struggled with learning, as well as being able to help someone grow in their knowledge and understanding through tutoring. When the student is able to finally understand something they have been struggling with, and then builds their confidence in the subject or concept being taught, it is a very rewarding feeling to have helped someone grow.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I would say patience because I understand that it takes some time for a student to grasp what is being taught, and it may require practice or repetition in order for them to become confident in what is being taught. I am definitely willing to put in the effort and time for the student to become confident in what they are learning.
I would also consider adaptability to be my strength because I realise that not every student learns in the same way, therefore it may require me to understand how the student learns best and adapt my teaching style to help them as much as I can.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do is make it a safe space for the student to feel as though their struggles in their learning or understanding can be addressed, as well as for them to feel heard, especially if they have any concerns or questions.
Another thing would be for a tutor to prepare ahead of the class as best as possible, so that the time the student dedicates to learning is not going to waste and the tutor takes the time to consider how to best help the student understand the class or lesson being taught for that particular session.
