Hi! I'm Julia, a University of Sydney student who has studied both the Alberta and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula. I know that subjects like maths and economics can feel overwhelming, because I've experienced the challenge of tackling difficult concepts myself. That's why I'm passionate about helping students break complex ideas into simple, manageable steps. My goal is to make learning less stressful, build confidence, and help every student reach their full potential.
My Teaching Style
Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit each individual's pace and learning style. I focus on building a strong understanding rather than simply memorising formulas or model answers. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they need and create a relaxed, supportive environment where making mistakes is part of the learning process. By helping students understand the "why" behind each concept, I aim to give them the confidence to solve problems independently. One thing students can expect from me is personalised practice sheets designed around their previous mistakes and areas they find challenging. This is a study technique I use myself, and I've found it to be one of the best ways to turn weaknesses into strengths. By focusing on the topics that need the most attention, each lesson becomes more effective and meaningful.
