What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I've always enjoyed the teaching side of my engineering work - mentoring, code reviews, writing educational content - more than I initially realised. Tutoring lets me focus on that part directly. I also did consistently well in both maths and English throughout school, and I like the idea of passing that on, especially to students who might be a bit intimidated by maths and just need someone patient to break it down with them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Patient, structured, and clear. I don't rush past a concept - I find exactly where a student's stuck and rebuild from there. Six years as a software engineer trained me to break problems into simple steps, and I've used that same skill mentoring junior engineers and writing technical course content, always translating something dense into something a beginner can actually follow.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Build their confidence, not just their knowledge - a student who's scared of getting it wrong won't take the risks needed to actually learn. Meet them where they are, not where the syllabus assumes they are, and find the exact gap rather than re-teaching everything. And be patient enough to explain a concept a different way instead of just repeating it louder.

About Deeksha

Strong Foundation and Real-World Experience

I bring a consistently high academic record in Maths and English to my tutoring. I hold a B.Tech in Computer Science, which has sharpened my logical thinking and problem-solving skills, strengths I bring directly into how I teach Maths concepts. Alongside my academic background, I've also worked in the software industry, where I've applied analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving on a daily basis. This means I don't just know Maths and logic in theory, I've used them practically, and I can show students how these skills apply beyond the classroom.

Patient and Individualised Teaching Approach

While I'm new to formal tutoring, I've always enjoyed breaking down concepts and helping others understand them clearly. I focus on identifying exactly where a student is struggling and adapting my explanations to suit their pace and learning style, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. I create a relaxed, judgement-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

Committed to Student Growth and Confidence

I work with both primary and high school students, with the goal of not just improving grades but building lasting confidence in Maths and English. Parents can trust me to bring genuine subject expertise, professional discipline, and real dedication to every session, helping students develop skills that support them well beyond the classroom.
