What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy the most about tutoring is being able to support students improve their academic and critical thinking skills and develop confidence in their capabilities so they can help themselves reach their full potential. I enjoy seeing learners understand difficult concepts and why an error may have been wrong and how to fix it going forward. With tutoring support, a student has more time to recognise their unique strengths and weaknesses and can adapt their learning approach to overcome those challenges. Seeing students progress and improve overtime is very rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe one of my strengths as a tutor is my ability to adapt teaching to make it more individualised depending on each student's learning needs (i.e., some learn concepts better from drawings/visual tools, or analogies and stories). Furthermore, I understand the importance of being patient, building rapport and trust, and having an empathetic approach to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely. Lastly, I come to sessions prepared to work with students in setting achievable goals based on the learning objectives in school.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
From my previous experiences as a tutor and Instructor Therapist working with neurodivergent learners, I believe helping students become more confident in their capabilities and realizing to not give up in the face of failure is the most important thing. This is because each year we progress, whether in primary/high school, university, or professional careers there will always be newer "harder" challenges. Hence, in addition to the actual concepts they are learning at the present, I try to teach and emphasize life-long skills such as time management, exam taking tips, and goal setting.

About Muhammad
Tutor who loves to learn and to teach!
Hello! I am a first year Medical Student at the University of Wollongong and graduated with my BSc. in Biomedical Sciences with Great Distinction in 2024. I have three years of tutoring/teaching experience including with neurodivergent learners. I believe in individualised support because all students have unique learning strengths/challenges so I try to teach concepts along with specific strategies that helps the student to remember information in a way they understand for longer. Furthermore, I like teaching students life skills including time management, test-taking tips, and managing stress so they feel more confident and are better equipped for success in the future. Lastly, one of my favourite hobbies is bicycling in nature!
