What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Honestly, what I enjoy the most about tutoring is simply spending time with the children. When I have conversation with them, their answers are so innocent and pure, sometimes it just make me smile, because only a child can think in that way. In that moment, I feel like I become a kid again too. Also, being around children is like an escape for me. When I am with them, I don't think about my own problems or stress, everything else just disappear for a while. That is why I really love this job. It is not only me teaching them, they also give me something back, without even realizing it.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think one of my strengths is that I speak fluently three languages, plus basic Chinese, so I can adapt easily when explaining things to different students. Language is not really a barrier for me. Also, based on what people around me always say, I am a very patient person, and children can feel that. They tend to like being around me and spend time with me, because every child learn in their own pace, and they need someone who will not get frustrated with them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is make the student feel safe when they make a mistake, not shame about it. When a child is not afraid to try, they learn much faster. Also, patience is not only about staying calm. If a student don't understand something one way, a good tutor should try explain it in different way, with different words or example, until it really click. That is what real patience means to me, not just waiting, but keep trying for the student.
