Hi! I’m a university student who enjoys helping students understand maths in a way that feels less confusing and overwhelming. I like breaking down difficult questions into smaller steps and explaining the reasoning behind them, rather than just giving students the answer.
I’m particularly comfortable tutoring senior high school maths, including Advanced Maths, as it is still fresh from my own studies. I’m also happy to work with primary and other high school students. I understand that every student learns differently, so I try to adjust my explanations and pace to suit each student.
My goal is not just to help students get through their homework, but to help them become more confident and independent when solving problems. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students can gradually build both their understanding and confidence.

Amelia was able to quickly pick up how to find the gradient and y-intercept
- Her prelesson quiz is a 3/10, I strongly recommend her to practice her algebraic skills which I have given her some homework to do over the holidays - I recommend Amelia to go over some of the homework straight after the lesson while her memory is still fresh, because she forgets what has been taught easily and then she struggles to complete the homework

- Amelia has attempted half the homework given first lesson achieving a 7/10 and some school homework - She is able to confidently expand simple expressions when only involving one bracket - She can recognise like terms and group them together
- Communication on her confusion needs to be said as she chooses to pretend she understands when I ask her or stays silent when I want to know what she doesn't understand (only after triple checking she sometimes says she is confused) - Amelia isn't strong in retaining previous lesson knowledge, so she strongly is recommended to self study and solve additional questions throughout the week relating to the lesson on top of the homework given (The quiz given to her at the beginning of this lesson she achieved a 1/10) - She likes to solve the questions in her head or calculator without writing down every step of working out, which I think makes it more confusing and harder for her to solve the questions
By the end of the lesson she could solve what I gave her but only simple questions

Amelia needs to do her homework and study herself on top of that. She forgets things easily and this cannot be improved without extra practice. She also struggles to understand keywords in math and only solves questions after I tell her explicitly what needs to be done.
