What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most rewarding part is that moment when something finally clicks — when a student goes from dreading a subject to actually engaging with it. I'm someone who genuinely loves researching topics and breaking down complex ideas, which is why I joined my university's external publications team. Tutoring feels like a natural extension of that, except the impact is direct and personal. To me, its not just explaining something but building someone's confidence in themselves.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I genuinely care about the "why" behind things, not just the answer, because that's what actually sticks. I'm also quite approachable. Many students carry real anxiety around studying, fear of failure, feeling like everyone else gets it except them. I try to create an environment where it's okay to not know something. I break problems into small manageable steps and move at whatever pace the student actually needs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I would listen first and teach second. Every student is different with completely different needs and fears. I believe underperformance is rarely about ability. More often there's a mental or emotional block getting in the way of what a student is truly capable of. The best thing a tutor can do is notice that and work with it. Once the block is gone, the learning follows naturally.
