What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping students understand concepts they initially find difficult and seeing their confidence grow. I’ve also enjoyed helping my cousins and friends with maths over the years, which has taught me to explain concepts in simple and understandable ways.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strengths are patience, communication and problem-solving. My experience as an ENGO peer mentor involved guiding undergraduate students, helping them solve problems and supporting them as they transitioned into university. I’m also comfortable working with different people and adapting my approach depending on what they need, which I think is important when tutoring students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important things a tutor can do are to be patient, understand how the student learns, and create a comfortable environment where they feel confident asking questions. A tutor should not just give students the answers, but guide them through the process and help them develop the confidence to solve problems independently.
