What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Having tutored students of a wide range of levels and and backgrounds, I know full well how important it is to realise that every student faces their own individual hurdles and have their own specific tutoring needs. Therefore, there is no one size fits all tutoring style, rather it is important to be nimble and adaptable. As such, what I most enjoy is that moment when I've finally identified the exact pain point a student is facing, which helps me tailor my tutoring to them. No two students are the same, and therefore neither are two tutoring experiences.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

First and foremost, I am empathetic, which helps me pinpoint the student's exact needs, be it filling the gaps they've been carrying since primary school, or giving them intense training to help cement newly studied concepts. Second, I am very precise with the material, as is my tutoring. Lastly, I am extremely patient, give students all the necessary space to ask questions and love to use a gamified tutoring style where relevant, helping students connect the dots between seemingly unrelated concepts, teaching to the problem rather than to the tool itself, which helps develop their intuition.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor's mission is often perceived to be helping students pass exams or achieve a specific academic performance. I certainly do agree that is one crucial thing a tutor can help a student do and always take it upon myself to achieve it. That said, I also believe that a tutor helps students shed light on their strengths and weaknesses, cement the former ones and work on the latter ones. Thus, a tutor also helps students develop or recover their confidence in a subject, or perhaps clarify their true academic goals at the light of the tutored subjects, by exposing their true breadth.
