What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I find tutoring a very rewarding experience as I am not only helping a student succeed but providing them with curiosity and confidence to thrive. Moreover, though they are learning from me, I am also learning from them. They allow me to be a better tutor everyday by providing new perspectives and allowing me to find new ways to foster understanding and motivation for further mentees.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

With both my background in psychology and experience with children, I am able to understand the mechanisms that drive motivation which allows me to better tailor classes to each student. However, my passion to help others, particularly adolescents, is my greatest strength as a tutor. As someone who struggled in elementary, I often believed that I was simply incapable rather than seeing an opportunity to change. My goal in tutoring is to show students that they are capable through fostering a learning environment where mistakes are welcomed and progress rather than perfection is congratulated.

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is adapt and be patient. As all students are different, it is important to understand their struggles and motivations allowing for a more holistic, well rounded approach to learning. I understand that there is no single set of instructions for teaching and tailor each session depending on the style of the student. As a learner myself, I know how frustrating it feels when I want to succeed but cannot understand the contents of a class, therefore I will go the extra mile to ensure my students leave my sessions confident and motivated.
