What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping someone understand something they once found difficult. I have always enjoyed math and problem-solving, which is one of the reasons I chose to study engineering. I enjoy breaking problems into simple steps and explaining them in a way that is easier to understand. It would be very rewarding to see a student become more confident and improve over time. I would also enjoy getting to know my students and creating a comfortable environment where they feel confident asking questions.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my main strengths as a tutor are patience, good communication and a strong understanding of maths. As a Civil Engineering student, I use maths and problem-solving regularly. I achieved 7/7 in Engineering Mathematics 2 and 6/7 in Engineering Mathematics 1. I also received the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence in 2025. I understand that every student learns differently, so I would explain problems in different ways until they understand. I am also friendly and approachable. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do is understand where a student is struggling instead of simply giving them the answer. A good tutor should explain difficult concepts in simple steps and encourage students to ask questions. They should also help students learn how to solve problems on their own. I think it is important to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Tutoring is not only about improving marks. It is also about helping students become more confident in their learning.
