What do I enjoy most about tutoring?

I enjoy helping people see that study can be doable and enjoyable. I feel many people tend to lack confidence in mathematics and I strongly believe that mathematics is achievable for everyone who is prepared to put the time and effort in, and it is absolutely not out of anyone's reach. I especially believe that achieving academic excellent is only a small amount of talent and intelligence but mostly the work you put in and finding what works for an individual.

My Strengths as Tutor

I believe I am able to understand what a student is not understanding quickly and I am able to find creative ways to explain something so they understand it. For example, if a student did not understand a concept involving the current flowing through a wire, I would use water flowing through a pipe as a physical example they could equate to it - the water representing the current etc. I believe that I am understanding and I do not believe in pressuring people to understand something to fast. I will take the time they need and try find as many different ways as I can to help grasp a concept.

Most important things I can do for a student

I believe that showing a student that they are completely capable in excelling in their studies is important. I believe every tutor should be able to do the best they can to find ways and reinforce concepts as well as they can, and they should be prepared to help as much as possible. Being able to explain a concept in your own words is the best way to know you understand it, and making a simple idea of it for the individual to understand (but no simpler) is the key to success. Being patient is also an extremely important factor in a successful relationship between a student and a tutor.
