What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
My favourite thing about tutoring is the students. I enjoy seeing the interesting ways they approach life and problems, and I just find them really fun to be around. Itβs also very rewarding to be able to witness students work hard and then succeed, whether that be in sports or academically. I think it builds great life experience for them.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
As a tutor I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to relate and communicate well with a wide range of students. I work very well with kids and can adapt my communication and teaching techniques to each individual. I am also very focused and independent, with good time management. Another one of my strengths is my ability to bring fun into everything that I teach. When I was coaching figure-skating we would always have fun and laugh during our lessons. The students enjoyed themselves, they looked forward to my lessons, and I believe they learned more because of it.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Beyond the learning of a specific subject, which may appear to be the main goal of tutoring to some, the most important things I believe a tutor can do for a student is to offer an enjoyable experience of learning. The school system can be difficult and it can be easy for students to lose motivation and interest in learning. A tutor can provide more personal teaching and help the student discover their own way of learning and that it can be an enjoyable process for them. A tutor is not just a teacher, they can be a mentor, friend, and a source of inspiration and support for their students.
