What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to grow while helping someone else grow. When I teach a topic, I also get the opportunity to revisit and strengthen concepts I’ve learned myself, while sharing that knowledge with someone who may be struggling with it. The most rewarding part is seeing a student go from feeling unsure or frustrated about a topic to eventually understanding it and solving problems independently. Knowing that I’ve helped someone reach that point using my own knowledge and guidance is what makes tutoring so meaningful to me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my biggest strengths as a tutor are my patience, friendliness, and sense of responsibility. I’m always willing to explain concepts in different ways and as many times as needed until the student understands. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Most importantly, I take responsibility for my students’ progress and focus on helping them genuinely learn and achieve their goals.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is recognise that every student learns differently and be willing to adapt their teaching accordingly. I learned this especially while tutoring a Year 6 student with autism, as I realised that different students may need different approaches, explanations and levels of patience.
I always try to put myself in my student’s shoes and think about what I would want from a tutor: someone patient, approachable, supportive and genuinely invested in my progress. That is the kind of tutor I aim to be.
