What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy communicating with my students and seeing them learn. I get a sense of satisfaction when I see that my students are improving and picking up well on the topics that I am teaching. When tutoring higher grades with more difficult content, I also see it as a good way to consolidate my own personal learning as I am constantly explaining the content over and over again as simply as I can to make it easier to understand.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my greatest strengths as a tutor are my attentiveness, my ability to simplify content and my rapport with students and parents. I notice quickly when a student is falling behind and take action to encourage them to catch up. I can break difficult topics into simple steps so they are easier to understand. I am also a clear communicator who understands the struggles students fact, which helps me build trust with both students and parents. This allows students to feel comfortable asking questions and receiving the best possible feedback without fear of judgement.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing is caring about the student and not just being there because you are paid to do so. Some students may go through shaming, typically by their peers but sometimes by the tutor as well, when they're unable to catch up with the rest of the class and this is me speaking from personal experience. A tutor must ensure that this never happens. A tutor should create the best learning environment where a student can feel comfortable asking questions when they don't understand and receive the best possible feedback.
