What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
Tutoring feels good. In other words, helping other people learn & grow makes me feel good inside. I love tutoring children for many different reasons but mostly for those special AHA!! moments when the light bulb goes off and my students gets the concept or strategy we have been working on. I love my students grow and become more self-confident as students, mathematicians, problem solvers, and people.
My Strengths as Tutor
Patience with my students is my strength. I have the ability to build a rapport with my students so that they feel comfortable to learn. I also relate the problem statement to a real-life example which makes my students understand the concepts easily. I also believe optimism is my strength since being optimistic creates resilience and persistence in students.
Most important things I can do for a student
Being a tutor I consider being patience with my students is the key to understanding the subject. I also believe that a tutor should be flexible. This means being willing to adjust techniques and approaches to meet the learning styles of the student. Also sharing my own personal experience and lessons learned goes a long way toward building trust and support. It also helps the student build self-confidence.
