What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
The moment when I'm able to explain things in a new way so that they are able to see the problem/process in a new light; I think that being able to help students through a difficult process to achieve understanding is incredibly rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor
My main strength is my ability to break down and simplify complicated topics so that they can easily be understood. Also, my analytical skills - I am trained as an editor, which focuses on finding and improving weak points to best achieve the desired outcome. These skills let me understand where a student is struggling, and redirect their thought process so that the solution seems natural for them, aiding their understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student
Give them tools to increase their confidence! A tutor is there as a support system; they're there to provide the one-on-one attention a classroom teacher is unable to provide, and to clarify, reinforce, and adapt classroom teaching so that students get the most out of their learning. That's what helps them to meet their goals and find success.
