What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy interacting with students, understanding their needs and helping them achieve their goals.
I particularly enjoy working with young students (Y5-Y9), as in my experience, the early years is where most students have gaps in knowledge which later hold them back. I like working with them and helping them make sense of previously foreign concepts and seeing them succeed and thrive on their own.
My expertise, as an engineer, is in maths and physics, but I am comfortable teaching areas I have not directly study, but perform at my work.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am patient, experienced, friendly, and have a dynamic approach. These skills have allowed me to relate to students to understand them, their difficulties, and confidently target explanations to their learning style.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe a good tutor is able to truly understand a studentβs strengths and difficulties, fill gaps in knowledge which may be holding a student back and teach maths such that is an activity they can relate to the real world, and enjoy learning. Ultimately, a tutor is to understand the student, and helps them gain confidence in their capabilities.
