What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is when I could see not only academic improvements in my students but also I could engage them in my lesson, that they looking forward to come to my lesson. In addition, it is a sense of happiness when my students could trust me and not be afraid of showing both their strengths and weaknesses.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I could recognise students' learning style and my most important approach is teaching their learning style, not they learn my teaching style. I have a variety of approaches and tools (from my university courses) to support my lesson planning and teaching activities. As a tutor, I am reliable, patient and punctual and always updating myself with regards to teaching skills.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Well-prepared lesson plan before tuition would be my priority and i would try my best to engage students in my lesson. In other words, I would make my lesson as less formal and create a friendly tuition environment rather than a formal classroom. In previous experiences in tutoring, i made my section as a friend-sharing section rather than teacher-student relationship and my students felt comfortable and confident during the section. My approach is teaching from a strength-based approach with praising and reinforcements. In addition, i would always provide feedback for my students after every lesson (usually verbal but sometimes through the comments in worksheet) and provide them with resources for improvement. Lastly, i dont usually provide homework unless the clients ask for it, because I believe students already have enough stress and works at their school.
