What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
Year 12 was a great opportunity for me to gain experience by helping some of my friends who were struggling with the content. What I enjoyed most was being able to watch their results improve throughout the year and see them become more motivated over time to work harder. I would love an opportunity to provide support and encouragement for more students and work with them to meet their goals.
My Strengths as Tutor
As a tutor I would carry a positive attitude in order to help encourage my students to have that same approach towards their studies. In addition to this I would focus on highlighting my student's strengths to ensure that they feel encouraged and are motivated to improve. The comprehensive understanding I have acquired regarding the subjects of further maths, english and biology will also ensure that my students will feel confident that they will be given the best information and advice. As a former student I will also be able to share my own experiences and what helped me to meet my goals.
Most important things I can do for a student
I believe most important thing a tutor can do for a student is provide a safe and encouraging space where the student feels free to voice any of their concerns or to ask questions. In addition to this a tutor should be commited to understanding the learning style of their student and the ways in which they respond to different teaching methods in order to help them to reach their full potential. A tutor should also have acquired sound knowledge of the particular subject and be adept in communication skills, to ensure that the student can gain a clear and concise understanding.
