What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The ability to help students achieve their best and not only inspiring them academically, but personally too. Being a tutor also teaches yourself as students may give you involuntary feedback helping you to become a better tutor. Tutoring is also a rewarding experience as it forces you to think through the basics and fundamentals of the subject matter, which makes you better at teaching that subject. Tutoring can also be beneficial for me as it helps me mature and gain self-confidence as I tutor. I am able to develop the ability to get along with my students easier by gaining skills of communication, mediation and negotiation
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I am able to explain a concept in more than one way. Normally I would explain a concept the way I would think about it, however if a student is having difficulties understanding, I am able to take an alternative, and maybe easier approach to explain the concept. As a tutor, I am always enthusiastic in the way I approach my lesson so that my student can feel motivated to learn. I am very organised and always go into my lesson with a set plan, however, I am also versatile and can adjust myself, and the lesson plan, to my students' needs if need be.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is important for a tutor to develop a close relationship with a student so that the student is comfortable around you, and also to set high expectations for your student to maximise learning potential. It is also imperative to always plan my lesson with a hands on approach to involve my student, such as giving my student problems to do during our lesson, and even setting regular homework so my student can consolidate and retain the information he/she learnt during our lesson
