What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love maths, and I love helping others with maths.
The most fascinating thing about tutoring is the reward that comes from seeing the students understand. A lot of people take maths as a painful and boring subject and lose confidence very quickly. Tutoring is a careful art that takes time and effort to consider the student and give them your best to explain, and when tutor does the right job, it is both rewarding for the student and the tutor.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
1. long term commitment
My passion for tutoring and being a part time uni student I can put alot of effort into tutoring in the long term. I think this is also an opportunity for me to learn and want to build up my tutoring skills for the next few years.
2. interpersonal skills
I think my greatest strength is being able to listen, relate to and speak with sincerity and honesty. Tutoring includes the work of communication with students and parents, and requires good interpersonal skills, which I am confident in.
3. strong background in maths
I like maths and I continued studying it in uni.
Most important things I can do for a student π
1. build a relationship with the student
a tutor should not only focus on studies but also give mental support; they need to give encouragement and assurance so the students can trust and rely on them, which brings a more positive effect. treat them with patience, kindness and sincere heart.
2. preparing for class
Being an expert in certain knowledge won't exactly make you a good teacher. A good teacher should be good with but also should be able to effectively explain. To do this, always revising the content before the class, and planning and simulating the class beforehand is important.
