What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Being able to see the look on a persons face when they realise that the invisible mirages they are grasping at with all their might are, in fact, nearer than they could ever imagine and as relevant to their situation as can be.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths are, grounding concepts in the real world by shedding light on why they are needed in the first place. Most higher theories and laws are just tools human beings created to understand and meddle with the observable world. First understand what the problem is and then introduce the tools.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Foster their curiosity for the unknown, and make all things seem as simple as breathing. In a word, smile. Smiling demonstrates your love for what you are talking about, how relevant it is to you, and it makes what you are talking about seem easy. In my experience, this is a spice that makes dry topics come alive and makes a student most curious about what you are talking about.

We need to improve her math retention when it comes to topics she learned previously.

Hayley seems very confident with geometry. She also mentioned that she had the opportunity to resit portions of a previous test which she apparently did markedly better on. We identified that Hayley likely performs below her capabilies on tests because she tends to second guess herself under test conditions.
In the future, we will work on completing more worksheets under test conditions to improve her calculation speed and thereby confidence.

I believe that Haley is getting very confident with math. Perhaps, she is just less shy now, but her confidence when answering questions is noticeably different. Also, she mentioned a week before that she would like to do more problems by herself, so today, I took the guise of an observer and let her figure out problems herself, questioning her along the way to test her confidence and provide a more informal "let's work together to solve this problem" approach. I think it went well, towards the end of the lesson, she had begun tutoring me which I thought was brilliant!
Next time we meet, we must work on geometry.
Went through a few problems on probability and algebra. Went quite well.

Needs to dedicate somemore time towards probability, long division and the names of particular parts of algebraic expressions. I've sent some videos for learning purposes.
