What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I believe that to explain a concept well is an enjoyable creative challenge. I also believe that learning is of great importance to the developing individual; it charts the course of the rest of their life. I feel happiness when I can help students to excel in their academic pursuits.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I understand the importance of clear definitions. 'Nothing is so difficult as definition, nor anything so severe a test and exercise of mental clarity and skill', yet nothing is more important than clearly defining your terms when learning anything new. I am good at unpacking a concept and pinpointing exactly which parts the student doesn't comprehend.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The two most important things I can do for a student are: 1. To guide them while they try to develop an understanding of difficult concepts that they are trying to learn. When a student is able to comprehend something they have found challenging it reinforces a positive self-image and can change a negative self-belief the student may have about their ability to learn. 2. To teach them techniques and strategies that they can use to make learning any subject easier, be it high school mathematics or undergraduate law. I want my students to ultimately be able to learn anything they want to by themselves.
