What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
- Helping students improve in mathematics and assisting the student with any questions asked
- Improving my own skills in teaching and communicating effectively towards another person
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
- Having previous experience teaching peers and juniors
- Being first in Maths Extension 1 and 2, so I would be able to help the student with most, if not all questions
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
- Communicating effectively towards the student (Ensuring the student understands how to solve the problems, this can be achieved by working and explaining the solution as many times as needed)
- Being able to solve all questions asked by the student (if not on the spot then as soon as possible with all working out)
- Being professional by maintaining a calm and relaxing environment for the student to focus and learn as much as they can during the session

For multiplication of indices, we went over it quickly and he did well.

He struggled slight with indices of zero as he has not been exposed to enough questions. This was rectified through practice during the today's lesson. The main struggle he had were remembering the indices' laws and indices division. He also seems to be confused on how the terms should be cancelled out. I plan to have him do a worksheet to fix this.
When I taught Summer multiplication, she showed a strong understanding of the fundamentals, allowing her to easily complete a challenge question, I gave her.

She does not seem to grasp how my working out of long division works even though her working out is very similar. This will be improved in the next lesson though constant practice.
