What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most rewarding part of tutoring is when I'm sitting with a student, explaining a concept that they do not fully understand and seeing their eyes light up when they finally understand it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am invested in my student's learning. I am patient, warm and approachable to my students, and can quickly build a good rapport with them. As part of my degree, I have easy access to mathematics resources, which allowed me to be able to balance my part time job with the full time university load with ease. Due to my passion for the job, I have also often stayed back overtime in order to ensure a student understood a concept that I explained to them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The tutor needs to care about the student's learning. They need to understand the way each student learns best and mould their pedagogy to fit the student. The tutor needs to be able to recognise consistency in errors so that they can make the student aware of where they are going wrong and can help fix it. The tutor also needs to be patient and approachable so that students are not too intimidated to ask questions.
