What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to not only refresh my own understanding of the subjects I teach, but the potential to broaden my perspective by engaging in discourse with my students. This experience is a delightfully common occurrence while teaching something as subjective as English, as even students as young as 3rd grade have provided comments that reshape how I view works of literature.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe the greatest strengths a tutor can possess is the ability to align themselves to the individual students "frame." What this means is that the tutor should be able to determine exactly how to get the student to work as efficiently as possible. Every individual student has their preference and method to learn something with the least possible resistance; some may be visual learners, others may be verbal or written learners. It is this aspect that I place great confidence in, as my flexible teaching style will ensure that all students get the most out of their tutoring experience.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Increasing a student's grade or helping them understand a single concept are just some of the things that most people look for in a tutor. While these are undoubtedly worthwhile indicators of a tutor's ability to teach a student, they are often mercurial and temporary once the tutoring stops. I firmly believe that what differentiates a good tutor to a great tutor is not the differences in grades, but the longevity of the study habits and studying philosophies that the tutor is able to instill upon their students.
