What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Based on my PASS experience mentioned earlier, I really enjoy engaging and helping students; from listening attentively, identifying gaps/ solutions needed and providing the action plan needed and following through from there. It has been a fruitful experience for me personally as well, I learned more about myself and enjoyed learning about "learning"; reading/ note taking techniques, writing styles, among many others. thus, I am constantly looking at ways to improve my skills such as learning skills, communication skills (to be able to impart better) and leadership skills.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am a good listener and patient when dealing with students especially ones in need of help (be it academically or personal wise); students have been open to me in talking about their problems. I am also an understanding person thus I am able to empathise with me students and help them better as I could relate to them. I am also a solution-oriented person which is crucial in tutoring/ helping students achieve their goals/ solve their problems.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a tutor should be able deliver a balance of teaching, guiding and being a friend to a student. It is essential for a tutor to not spoon feed, but should be able to guide (with just sufficient hand holding) the students to learn better and achieve their fullest potential on their own. It is also important to share on understanding and finding ways to learn including understanding how one learns. It is also important to cultivate sense of confidence and interest in students; understanding their own SWOT, interests areas so then they're more invested in learning/ doing assignments.
