What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Through my experience as both a student and a teacher, I am a firm believer that students thrive when their academic influencers are nurturing; understanding and push you to the best of your ability. Alongside my self drive and desire for academic success, my academic relationships with my teachers were a massive factor in my results. The point I am hinting at is that I pride myself on being able to impact and aid in someones schooling and push them to the best of their ability, as I was pushed.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My biggest strength is my ability to recognise that everybody learns differently & my flexibility in teaching methods, to ensure everyone has the capacity to get involved & maximise their potential.
My caring nature helps me in reassuring students when incorrect or when they don't understand something (until they do) to ensure they maintain their confidence and willingness to learn.
My patience, support & understanding that not everyone wants to be a 90+ ATAR student, enables me to push students to the level theyβre willing to achieve, but remain flexible to push them further if they wish.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important thing a tutor can do is to understand the student, from their goals; strengths; weaknesses and how they best respond to learning. This understanding not only builds rapport with the student, but also makes you a better tutor as you can tailor your methods of teaching specific to the student to maximise time, effort & potential.
Also, I believe reassurance is a significant aspect in a students academic success. This reassurance helps them overcome adversity while maintaining motivation; willingness to learn & confidence. This keeps students persistent in their schooling life
