What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The world needs people with a better mathematical and scientific understanding. Facilitating that is something I consider a public service. I find it fascinating navigating the different ways that different students learn.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My physics and mathematical knowledge is far above the level required for high school. This means that I can answer any question that a student has. It is the context around the specific syllabus dot points that I am able to offer. When a student asks "when will this be useful?", I have the answer.
After tutoring for around 7 years I have a great deal of experience and am able to explain the most difficult problems in multiple ways, approaching problems from a variety of perspectives.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Tutoring, to me, should not just be about teaching the specific syllabus dot points but instead be about supplying the supplementary information around a topic and providing a perspective that differs from the one provided by a teacher. As a tutor I try my best not only to teach my students the information they are required to learn but also to explain why what they are learning is important, beyond the HSC. After working in the field of physics for some time I also have interesting stories throughout history about almost all topics of science and mathematics that help to reaffirm knowledge.
