What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I believe those who ask for help should be met with genuine aid, although this is unfortunately not the case for general classes in high school due to many constraints. This has been the case for my in numerous instances.
Instead, I believe tutoring in much smaller groups yield much higher results, both for tutor and student. I want to help others find and achieve their goals as I've had countless others aid me in my own path - and this is an opportunity just for that.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I regard myself as flexible. During my short time mentoring, I came to understand that some students preferred different teaching styles. As my group was small, I catered to them individually, and I believe with this opportunity, I can learn from that experience to address the particular needs of the student. I also regard myself as patient, as with learning or teaching English, results come slow. I was often frustrated with my results as I was inconsistent in my marks, but as I came to better grasp the English syllabus, I believe that I can fully empathise with those in my previous position.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Taking a note from those around me who've helped me grow academically and personally, I strongly believe patience and honesty are the highest qualities in a teacher-student relationship. Giving constructive feedback without gloss nor unnecessary severity is key to helping the recipient grow and progress, which won't always take a linear path. As such, an enduring patience is needed to truly see long-term results in better understanding a student's position and helping them achieve their goals.
