What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love the idea that you have contributed something to someones knowledge and career. I plan on becoming a lecturer at UWA so it is a passion of mine to teach higher education mathematics and to become a Mathematician. I look forward to what tutoring can teach me in return.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I can communicate very well with children and adults and I am a natural at clearly and concisely navigating my point with the student. My strengths are from my current knowledge of mathematics, which is currently improving every semester. I am able to travel and to give as much time as the student requires. I will be able to assess the students current understanding of the subject and strengthen any errors in their understanding. I also believe that organisation creates motivation. An organised and on-time tutor hence influences the reciprocal.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is to create excitement about mathematics. If you can express the beauty in mathematics and show the joy of figuring out the next piece of knowledge, I believe the subject becomes more enjoyable and motivates the student; opposed to rushing through the curriculum quickly without explaining the finer details. One of my favourite professors at university would, each week, read a motivational quote by Aristotle or Plato for example, and would frequently express the symmetry that surrounds us.
