What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Seeing the happiness and smiles on the kids (and even parents faces) when I give them back their results and they were able to score highly. Knowing how much I was able to push them to do their best and the work they put in, it made those moments all the more special to me for I felt that I had a part in their long academic journey and I was happy to be a part of that and help them grow their love for what they are learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having high EQ (emotional intelligence) for I feel all the more aware of not only my student's body language and word usage to convey their emotional response to certain things that would help inform me of their needs, but also being able to understand and control my own outward actions and expressions. I feel that I am both patient yet assertive, gauging the fine line of when and how much instructional assistance is needed in order to maximise their own self-guided understanding. Lastly, I end up enjoying and being able to display my light-hearted side so that they too may enjoy learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Actively listening to the student to understand where their problems and issues lie, or even to know how easily they are understanding a concept so that the tutor can move on appropriately to the next level to further develop the student's understanding. From there, it goes without saying, needing to actually have that knowledge to guide them with but not only that is important, but even more so, the delivery of that guidance and teaching. The delivery needs cater to each student, so the tutor must be able to understand the academic needs of the students through actively listening to them.
