What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Through tutoring, I have worked with a diverse range of students. I have noticed that most students have a different skill set, different ways of understanding, learning and explaining a concept. I find it interesting to see the different perspectives; different sets of logical reasoning, that each student has to offer. This is what I enjoy the most about tutoring because by looking at the different perspectives, I believe that I learn new things and it helps me look at a concept differently. This can sometimes help explain the concept to other students whose learning style is different.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor includes the fact that I can work with students of year levels from reception to Year 12 and beyond. I can work with students of different learning styles and skillset levels. My biggest strength is that I can work through the same concept and explain it through a different perspective suitable to the student's understanding/learning style. From my experience, I can also say that my strength would be my ability to engage a student with a conept that they do not feel confident with. I use past/similar looking examples and build up to the new concept to help the student learn.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should be able to communicate clearly with a student. It is important for a tutor to be patient with a student as different students learn at different paces. A tutor should be able understand the learning style of a student and have the ability to explain a concept in multiple ways to ensure that the student is confident with a concept. It is important for a tutor to be empathetic towards a student as it helps the tutor understand if and why a student is having difficulty in learning a new concept thus, understanding and catering to their learning style.
