What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
The thing that I enjoy most about tutoring is the sense of satisfaction I feel when a student begins to understand a concept that they previously struggled with. It's wonderful to watch as they gain confidence in working through a challenging problem or expressing their ideas. I find it extremely rewarding to see progress in a studentβs work over a period of months, and to know that I was able to give them the tools they require to continue to succeed.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think that one of my strengths as a tutor is my ability to be very patient and calm. I am willing to take the time to work through a problem or idea slowly to ensure that the student has a firm and thorough understanding of it.
I think another strength is my ability to communicate clearly and logically. I find that I am able to break down complex concepts for students, so that they may grasp them more easily.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide them with the tools to be able to confidently work through academic problems on their own. In an English context this can mean teaching a student how to deconstruct what is required by a question, or giving them the skills to analyse a text for thematic and technical features. By giving a student critical thinking tools, a tutor can give them the confidence and capability to tackle future academic challenges on their own.

She need improvement in structuring her essays, and expressing her ideas in an organised way. Through working on essay plans for various topics, and eventually full essay practice, I think she will be able to do well.
