What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The thing that I enjoy most about tutoring is the sense of satisfaction I feel when a student begins to understand a concept that they previously struggled with. It's wonderful to watch as they gain confidence in working through a challenging problem or expressing their ideas. I find it extremely rewarding to see progress in a student’s work over a period of months, and to know that I was able to give them the tools they require to continue to succeed.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I think that one of my strengths as a tutor is my ability to be very patient and calm. I am willing to take the time to work through a problem or idea slowly to ensure that the student has a firm and thorough understanding of it. I think another strength is my ability to communicate clearly and logically. I find that I am able to break down complex concepts for students, so that they may grasp them more easily.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide them with the tools to be able to confidently work through academic problems on their own. In an English context this can mean teaching a student how to deconstruct what is required by a question, or giving them the skills to analyse a text for thematic and technical features. By giving a student critical thinking tools, a tutor can give them the confidence and capability to tackle future academic challenges on their own.
