What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love helping students in need of support when it comes to learning as I have experienced most of it before. Learning subjects can be difficult for some students to process as it might be stressful to perform well overall, and with my knowledge of maths skills/strategies, I do believe that I will be able to teach them new skills that will be necessary for future endeavours.
As previously mentioned, I have not had any tutoring experiences before. However, helping others is what I love doing and tutoring is definitely something that will push me to become a better person in the future.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
- I am a kind hearted individual that always brings others first, which can help students be less stressed. As I have anxiety issues, stress does not help at all and if stress is not a factor, then students will be calmer (which also can improve their thinking skills/strategies).
- I am very supportive, with the main focus being to get students to aim for their goals. Being supportive is a necessity as without support, students will think that they cannot do anything right. For example, a bridge without supports will inevitably break, if you add supports the bridge will stay in place.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
1. Maintain a Supportive Environment
Supportive environments for students, when learning new skills/strategies, need to be maintained in order for the student to reach their goals.
2. Showing the Student Respect
As a tutor, you need to gain the students' respect through a range of ways, for example, giving them the chance to learn new skills by themselves.
3. Giving Students' Their Voice
You will need to work with the student, not against them. This means that both yourself and the student will need to voice their own thoughts and opinions to work out the answers.
