What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I am often asked to tutor students who tend to be falling behind in their school studies. On our first meetings they are discouraged and are uninterested. As a tutor, to be able to overcome this hurdle together, and help build a student's confidence and knowledge in a subject I am passionate about is extremely rewarding to me. I love seeing my students improve and work towards, and, ofcourse, reach their goals.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
It plays to my advantage that I have always loved teaching. I think to be someone who is able to influence another person academically requires not just intelligence but also deep-seated passion. I've loved books, writing and all my English subjects my whole life. As a tutor, one of the biggest difficulties is to be able to motivate your students and guide them through the bad grades, the exam anxiety, and the parental pressure. I understand the frustration of wanting to improve in something desperately, and I believe I am competent enough to help students achieve any academic goal they set.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Simply to understand the student as an individual. Everyone has different learning styles, what works for some won't work for others. Something I can do as a tutor that perhaps a school teacher might not, is to provide guidance and support in a way the student best understands, prefers and at a pace in which they are not overwhelmed by. When a student feels capable, they are motivated, and naturally this leads to good results.
