What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy explaining things and passing on my knowledge to people and children. I get a sense of satisfaction when someone of younger age is finally able to understand a topic or something they were stuck on previously. Seeing the people I mentor succeed and surpass their own expectations, surpassing their predicted grades are things that I enjoy the most from tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that my strengths as a tutor are identifying the learning method of a tutee. I fully understand that everybody has different learning styles and what works best for one tutee may not work the same for another.
I also believe that another one of my strengths is communication. I ensure that my explanations are not messy and confusing. Having been a tutee myself for gcse and IB, I have experienced teachers who were bad at explaining concepts and have compared this with external tutors which I understood immediately.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to not provide additional stress towards them. Students already feel the pressure and expectations of performing well within their school and with any extra-curricular activities that they have. A tutor needs to provide the flexibility and identification skills to understand what the student needs help with. Extra-preparation prior to the next units being taught at school is also important as it allows the student to be one step ahead and also to understand what is being taught in the school classroom.
